Tulip complaint process

Following the village drop-in about the "Westerleigh Smell", Tulip Ltd has issued a complaints process that we should use when we are aware of any suspect smells.
It can be read here.

Westerleigh smell (UPDATE)

Over 30 residents came to the drop-in event in the Village Hall to learn about Wessex Water's plan to eliminate sewer flooding  and the smell in the village.

Wessex, Tulip and Environment Acency representatives were on hand (with Parish Councillors) to explain the route of the new 1.6 km long sewer pipe, which will be dedicated to Tulip trade effluent, and will bypass the village completely, joining the main Yate 600 mm sewer system about 250 metres north of the Nibley Lane junction.

The scheme will cost £1 000 000 and will start in September 2018. We do not yet have a completion date, but Wessex representatives suggest that it will take 3 to 6 months.

Friends of St James - open meeting

With the New Year it’s time for the Friends of St James to spring back into action!

Please come along to the Olde Inne at 7pm on Monday 15
th January to launch the village community involvement in the church modernisation project. We need your ideas for fundraising and involvement in the project.

Without input from our community the major funders won’t help, so we depend on you.

Resuscitation training

Learn to carry out basic resuscitation using chest compression and rescue breathing (mouth-to-mouth) to keep someone alive until an ambulance arrives.

They will thank you for this!

Learn how to use the public defibrillator at the Olde Inne as part of the process.

If you attended last year’s sessions then this is a chance to revise your technique and practise to keep your skills up to date. Please do come for a practice.

If you wish, you may borrow a video and manikin to train your family.

Come along to a session in the Village Hall:

Friday 26th January 18:30-19:30
Saturday 27th January 11:00-12:00
