September
at St James
Saturday
14th September Ride +
Stride
Your last
chance this year to enjoy a cooked breakfast in church with friends and
neighbours (9-11am). This time the breakfast is free, but we ask you to
generously sponsor the cooks in support of the Gloucestershire Historic
Churches Trust who provide grants towards preservation and improvements such as
our kitchen and toilet project.
The
guided walk leaves at 11 from St James and goes via St Peter’s, St John’s, St
Mary’s and St Nix before returning to Westerleigh – you can walk the whole 8 miles (ca. 13 km) or hop on a bus to come back after 3½, 5, or 6½ miles. If you are
prepared to ask friends and colleagues to sponsor you and add to the money we
raise for the GHCT’s funding pot, please call Kathy or Pat on 01454 318157 for
a sponsorship form.
Sunday
22nd September Harvest
Festival
The 10.30 service in St James will be a traditional Harvest celebration to which all are welcome. Gifts of produce, cakes and preserves offered at the service or taken directly to the New Inn (after 3pm) will then be auctioned in the pub from 7.30pm. Do come along for an entertaining evening and stock up your larder with fresh produce. Giant marrow anyone?
